“Knight Of Cups” update – synopsis and first stills

June 15th 2015 • by Jess • No CommentsGallery Update, Knight Of Cups

A new batch of stills from Knight Of Cups have recently been released, including one giving us our first official look at Isabel in the film. View this still in our Gallery, and find the others at Indie Wire.

We also have a more extensive synopsis for the film:

Rick is a slave to the Hollywood system. He is addicted to success but simultaneously despairs at the emptiness of his life. He is at home in a world of illusions but seeks real life. Like the tarot card of the title, Rick is easily bored and needs outside stimulation. But the Knight of Cups is also an artist, a romantic and an adventurer.

In Terrence Malick’s seventh film a gliding camera once again accompanies a tormented hero on his search for meaning. Once again a voiceover is laid over images which also seek their own authenticity. And once again Malick seems to put the world out of joint. His symphonic flow of images contrasts cold, functional architecture with the ageless beauty of nature. Rick’s internal monologue coalesces with the voices of the women who cross his path, women who represent different principles in life: while one lives in the real world, the other embodies beauty and sensuality. Which path will Rick choose? In the city of angels and the desert that surrounds it, will he find his own way?

The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year; you can search out reviews online if you choose, but here are a few from some reputable sources: Variety, THR and IndieWire.

IndieWire reported the film may be released in the UK on April 10th, however, this doesn’t appear to have happened. THR reported that Broad Green Pictures have purchased the rights to the film. We are still awaiting official release dates….

IndieWire have some other recent articles including information on the films soundtrack, interviews with Christian Bale from the Berlin Film Festival, and the first poster for the film. None mention/show Isabel!

Shaun Monson’s documentary “Unity,” featuring 100 celebrity narrators, will be distributed by SpectiCast at 1,000 to 1,200 screens worldwide beginning Aug. 12, Variety has learned exclusively.

The film comes a decade after Monson’s documentary “Earthlings,” which explored humanity’s relationships with other animals. Produced by Melissa Danis and Monson through Nation Earth, “Unity” explores the interconnectivity of all life on Earth and what it means to be human, exploring themes of love, tragedy and hope.

SpectiCast has partnered with Fathom Events for the domestic release on select U.S. screens. The deal was announced Wednesday [April 22nd] at CinemaCon.

Celebrities lending their voices to this powerful film include Aaron Paul, Adam Levine, Adrian Grenier, Alison Eastwood, Amanda Seyfried, Amy Smart, Anjelica Huston, Anton Yelchin, Arian Foster, Arlene Martel, Balthazar Getty, Ben Kingsley, Ben Whishaw, Beth Hart, Brandon Boyd, Caroline Goodall, Carrie-Anne Moss, Casey Affleck, Catherine Tate, Claire Forlani, Cloris Leachman, Common, Damien Mander, David Copperfield, David DeLuise, David LaChapelle, Deepak Chopra, Dianna Agron, Dr. Dre, Edward James Olmos, Ellen Burstyn, Ellen DeGeneres, Emily Deschanel, Eve Best, Famke Janssen, Freida Pinto, Geoffrey Rush, Gregory Colbert, Helen Mirren, Isabel Lucas, January Jones, Jason Mraz, Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Tilly, Jesse Carmichael, Jessica Chastain, Joaquin Phoenix, Joe Perry, Joel Edgerton, John Paul DeJoria, Jorja Fox, Julia Ormond, Kathy Freston, Kevin Spacey, Kristen Bell, Kristen Wiig, Larenz Tate, Leighton Meester, Lena Headey, Liev Schreiber, Maggie Grace, Maggie Q, Malin Akerman, Marcia Gay Harden, Marianne Williamson, Mariel Hemingway, Marion Cotillard, Mark Strong, Martin Sheen, Matthew Modine, Matthieu Ricard, Michael Beckwith, Michael Gambon, Michelle Rodriguez, Minnie Driver, Missy Higgins, Moby, Nestor Serrano, Olivia Munn, Olivia Wilde, Pamela Anderson, Paul Watson, Persia White, Phil Donahue, Portia de Rossi, Rick Allen, Rose Byrne, Russell Simmons, Rutger Hauer, Ryan O’Neal, Sam Simon, Selena Gomez, Shaun Toub, Susan Sarandon, Tim McIlrath, Tom Hiddleston, Tony Hawk, Tony Kanal and Zoe Saldana.

“The title ‘Unity’ signifies the intention of the content,” Monson said. “It’s not so much to entertain, like a past-time, but rather turn something ‘on’ inside you that has been suppressed or forgotten by the mask that society or tradition puts upon us. But more than that the film also helps relate us to the mystery of existence, to all of existence, which we are merely a part. “

Isabel on the cover of Australian In Style magazine

April 10th 2015 • by Jess • No CommentsMedia Alert, News, Videos

To celebrate their 15th birthday, Australian In Style magazine features some of their favourite female celebrities on their cover, and inside ask what they would tell their 15 year old selves if they had the chance.

Here’s what Isabel said:

“What would I say to my 15-year-old self? I would sit her down and remind her that it’s really okay to be yourself; in fact, it’s wonderful. We try to conform to fit someone else’s view but it’s your life—and you never know what’s around the bend.

It takes courage and vulnerability to be that true with yourself and with others.”

Damon Gameau goes Super Size on the sweet stuff in shocking sugar experiment

IT’S been 10 years since Morgan Spurlock existed on just McDonald’s for a month in the groundbreaking film, Super Size Me.

Now our waistlines face a new threat, and another guinea pig has undergone some risky self-experimentation to try to make sense of it.

Australian TV actor and filmmaker Damon Gameau stars in That Sugar Filmwhich will air in Australian cinemas in early 2015, in which he exists on “healthy” low-fat food with a high sugar content for 60 days.

The results are more shocking than anyone could have expected.

Within three weeks, the previously healthy Damon was feeling terrible all the time, lethargic and snapping at the slightest thing.

A visit to the doctor confirmed the worst — he had the beginnings of fatty liver disease.

“I had no soft drink, chocolate, ice cream or confectionery,” Damon told Sunrise this week. “All the sugars that I was eating were found in perceived healthy foods, so low-fat yoghurts and muesli bars and cereals and fruit juices, sports drinks … these kind of things that often parents would give their kids thinking they’re doing the right thing.”

Russell Crowe’s directorial debut to be released in April by Warner Bros.

November 16th 2014 • by Jess • No CommentsThe Water Diviner

Russell Crowe’s directorial debut to be released in April by Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Pictures says it has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to actor Russell Crowe’s directorial debut — The Water Diviner — from RatPac Entertainment.

Set for release April 24, the big-screen drama stars Olga Kurylenko, Yilmaz Erdogan, Cem Yilmaz, Jai Courtney, Ryan Corr, James Fraser, Ben O’Toole and Isabel Lucas.

The announcement regarding its American release was made Friday by Greg Silverman, the studio’s president of creative development and worldwide production; Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and international distribution; and Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution.

Shot primarily on location in the wilds of the Australian outback and Turkey, the film is a post-war drama which follows an Aussie man on his travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli in search of his three missing sons.

“The studio has a long history with Russell, going back to his stellar breakthrough performance in L.A. Confidential. We’re excited to be collaborating with him again, this time on his directorial debut,” Silverman said in a statement.

“Russell has proven time and again what an incredible on-screen talent he is, and it’s a thrill for us to be able to bring not only his first feature behind the camera — but such a moving story — to U.S. audiences,” added Kroll.
